Rock Star turned '1'

It is such an joyful time for me and my family. Just like everyone would say, but it means so much. I wonder how 1 year passed away so soon. It is such an wonder to see your kid growing every inch. The way Shyam lay beside me when he was born and now how he runs around the house in just a year is such an wonder!
He loves the episode Fresh Beat Band which comes in NickJr, and all their songs. So we call him Rock Star @ home.

The party was such a big party with 35 guests and 12 kids. we had invited all our friends to share the joy and happiness. Hasini had her share in inviting her friends too. We had arranged some exiting games for the kids which made them occupied through out the party. Thats some nice time for us ;)

Celebrating Pongal Festival

CELEBRATING BHOGI:

The great tamil festival "Pongal" starts with Bogi. Bogi Festival falls on the last day of Margazhi month of tamil calender. Traditionally Bhogi festival is for Lord Indiran, who has been worshiped as "God for rain". This is to thank Lord Indiran to give enough rain for the harvest.

THINGS DONE PRIOR TO BHOGI:

But generally, the prior to Bhogi every one clean up their houses, get rid of old unused items. In tamil it is called "Pazhayana Kazhithalum Pudhiyana Pugudhalum". In villages people collect all the old, unwanted items and they bornfire in centre of the village.

Also, people paint the houses, put kolams and color the kolams. People take oil bath and make poli, vadai, payasam for neyvethyam to god and in particular to Lord Indiran.

Happy Bogi and lets celebrate environment friendly bogi festival.
