Instant Oats dosa

Oats dosa is quite similar to rava dosa in preparation and cooking. These dosas have their own unique taste which differentiate from the rava dosa. Especially the nice aroma that comes while cooking them. I have seen recipes for oats dosa which calls for grinding the oats along with rice and urad dhal. But oats should be something that lends a helping hand to have instantly. I tried Oats dosa like rava dosa or wheat dosa and it did come as great as a rava dosa.

You need
Oats - 1 cup
Rice flour - 1/4 cup
Rava -1/4 cup
cumin - 1 tsp
Onion - 1 finely chopped
Green chillies - 4 finely chopped
Pepper powder - a pinch
 asafoetida - a pinch
curry leaves - a bunch chopped
Oil - as required
Salt - to taste
Water - as required

Dry roast oats for 2 mins till a nutty aroma comes and the color of oats slightly changes. Allow it to cool down then powder it finely. This nutty aroma will make you crave to eat. To a saute pan, add a tsp of oil and mustard seeds. Once it splutters, add the cumin seeds, curry leaves, green chillies and onion. Just saute it for a while. In a bowl, take the oats flour, rice flour, & rava. To this add the pepper, asafoatida, and the mixture from the pan. I always forget to add salt, the most important to any food. Now add water and make it to a batter, similar to the rava or wheat dosa consistency. Heat the non-stick pan and take a laddle of the batter. Do not pour like normal dosa, Since this is watery, pour in a circular way so that it spreads evenly. While you pour the batter it spreads out with holes. Simply, do the outer circle and pour in the inner circle. Well this is going to be our breakfast on Monday mornings.
Always drizzle the batter and not pour so as to get crispy dosas. The pepper flavor gives an elite taste. Enjoy the oats dosa with your favorite chutney or sambar. They are very healthy or tasty too!
